Learning Record Online Exemplars
Here are some examples taken from
Learning Record Onlines of students in prior classes. There's a brief explanation
for each part of the Record and examples for that section, followed by examples
of complete Records together with the students' work. These exemplars are
not intended to represent "ideal" responses, just responses that
are reasonably detailed, well-supported by evidence, thoughtful, and complete.
I'm very grateful for the contributions of all students in my classes to
these pages.
Preparing the LRO involves
considerable thinking and writing; there's quite a bit of text in a completed
LRO, but since it is distributed over the entire semester, it grows a
little bit at a time. Because it involves substantial observation, gathering
of evidence, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, argumentation, organization,
and presentation, I count the Learning Record itself as a major writing
project in my courses.
